A Little Background Information

Hi, I'm Heather (Bride to be) and I just turned 23. I go to the Art Institute of Fashion Merchandising and will be graduating in March. I have no idea what I want to do when I graduate and I'm hoping over the next couple months I get hit with the a-ha lightning bolt. I am headed to Milan Italy in a little less than two months. I will be studying abroad for almost three months. When I get back I will be running full speed ahead on wedding plans. Until then my goal is to find a venue and a date.
Brandon (future groom) is going to be 29 soon. (Sorry for the picture... I love this one of him though) He is going to school to be a Nurse. He will graduate the beginning of May. That gives us about four months of no school to focus almost completely on the wedding.... not including finding jobs. Talk about running a mile a minute.
Brandon and I met through a mutual friend, Chelsea. Brandon and I went on our first date on Light Up night almost two years ago. It was very cold and Brandon didn't talk a lot. Boy... have times have changed. If you know Brandon you know he is very chatty. :)

It has been really fun getting to know Brandon and I am looking forward to all of our years together in the future.

....Now the planning begins....

The Engagement --- July 12, 2010

The day was hot and started like any other day. Brandon and I decided to celebrate the day before my 23rd birthday because of our work schedules. Brandon picked me up and we headed to Oakland to run some errands. We shopped around South Side Works for the rest of the afternoon. Our last stop was our dinner reservations at Monterey Bay at 7:30. We rode the incline up to Mount Washington.
Once we got to the top we were able to enjoy the view of Pittsburgh.
The restaurant looked like any other building in Pittsburgh, tall and lots of windows. Once you walk into the building the only place to go is on an elevator. We pressed the button and went up many floors to the restaurant. The elevator had windows so you could look out at the city on your way up to the restaurant. The restaurant was so pretty. We put in our request for a window seat and headed down to the bar for the wait. Two water's later and we were feeling much better about the heat.
We had a really nice waiter who was able to make some great recommendations on food. If you end up at Monterey Bay the Mahi Mahi was really good. Our view was beautiful. Once our meal was over we decided to share a dessert. We ordered the Steaming Hot Latte which was a warm chocolate souffle topped with Chantilly creme and served with chocolate steam. The waiter brought out the dessert and when he set it down I saw this:
My first reaction was that it was a joke. By the time I looked up and saw Brandon I knew that it wasn't a joke. He pulled out a box and asked me to marry him. It was a perfect moment.
